MS Shaft Construction at Wazirpur
Project Overview
BuildUP India was entrusted with the design, fabrication, and construction of an MS structural shaft for a multi-story industrial facility. This project required the integration of civil, structural, and electrical components to deliver a robust and efficient solution that met all client requirements.
The shaft measured 1625 x 1950 mm and spanned a total height of 15,050 mm (excluding the pit). The design included precise door openings of 1180 x 2240 mm, ensuring compatibility with the lift supplier's layout and balcony connections.
Scope of Work
Our team began with extensive civil works, including excavation, pit foundation construction with reinforced concrete, and core cutting of slabs for seamless shaft integration. The structural fabrication phase involved the installation of a high-strength stainless steel framework using 150x150x3.5 mm square pipes, ISMC 150 channels, and ISMB 200 load hooks.
For the exterior, the shaft was covered with 10mm toughened glass on the ground and first floors, while upper floors featured durable ACP sheets. Electrical installations were carried out meticulously, including armoured copper cables, distribution boxes, RCCBs, MCBs, and LED lighting. To enhance safety, we installed safety barricades, smoke window louvers, and robust earthing systems.
This project was completed within the stipulated timeline of 30-40 days, despite the challenges of limited installation space and ensuring alignment with the existing infrastructure.
